Chelsea vs Fulham Live: Club Friendlies LIVE – CHE vs FUL LIVE – Chelsea face Fulham in their third match of the Premier League Summer Series. After winning one and drawing one, new coach Mauricio Pochettino will be looking for another win to keep up his unbeaten streak. On the other hand, Fulham have won one and lost one in their side of the last two Premier League Summer Series matches. They will be looking to end this short friendly series with a win against the Premier League giants.

After a horrifying campaign last season where they won only 11 out of 38 matches, Chelsea finally seems to be getting back on track. Seems like the new manager Mauricio Pochettino is off to a good start with a 2-game unbeaten streak in the pre-season friendlies of the Premier League Summer Series. The Blues started their pre-season campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion and won that match by a 4-3 margin. Their next match was against the Premier League giants who ended last season in 4th position, Newcastle United.

It was the new arrival Nicolas Jackson who gave them the lead 12 minutes into the match. However, Newcastle equalised through Miguel Almirom with seconds left on the clock from half time. After their last Premier League Summer Series match against Fulham, they will take on Borussia Dortmund on August 3. Then they will start preparing for their first Premier League match which is set to be a blockbuster one against Liverpool. The new coach will look to bag more wins before he tackles the Reds on August 13.

Fulham ended the season in 10th position in the Premier League table. They are one of the 6 teams alongside Chelsea to be a part of the Premier League Summer Series. Their opening pre-season friendly match was against Brentford which they won by a 3-2 margin. Their second match was against Aston Villa who grabbed the last place to qualify for the European competition qualification by ending three places higher than Fulham. They lost the match by a 2-0 margin to Aston Villa.

An 80-minute delay because of thunderstorms to that match did no good to Fulham. Head coach Silva expressed his lament after the game saying how they lacked playing staff in the midst of a Aleksandr Mitrovic transfer saga. They now have their last Premier League Summer Series match against Chelsea before they face Hoffenheim in their last pre-season friendly match. Then they will take on Everton on the road in their first Premier League match of the upcoming season on August 12.

Chelsea Team News

  • Chelsea have remained on the safe side as they have not sustained any fresh injuries in their last two friendly outings. Their only injury concern remains to be around Noni Madueke. He was sidelined for their match against Newcastle due to a tight hamstring and he could be sitting this one out as well depending upon his recovery.
  • Levi Colwill and Thiago Silva are also two of the few names that missed the match against Newcastle. The coach kept them sidelined as a precautionary move. In the meantime, Lewis Hall and Angelo Gabriel did not get any playing time either. However, there is a high chance that the coach will call them up for this match.
  • Callum Hudson-Odoi, Romelu Lukaku, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have all left the club in this transfer window. However, the coach doesn’t seem to be missing the trio of attackers. The new arrivals Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku have fit in well and they have already started making their mark. Hence, the coach is sure to look to them for this match as well.

Fulham Team News

  • Fulham are looking over to a number of injury concerns as they approach this match against the Premier League giants. Joao Paulinha sustained a possible dislocated shoulder against Brentford in their first match. The injury could see him stay out for quite some time. Antonee Robinson and Tosin Adarabioyo also sustained injuries during the summer.
  • The inclusion of Adarabioyo and Robinson in this match will depend upon the late decision of the coach. Adding to the list are two more players who have written their names on the long-term injury list. Andreas Pereira is out because of an ankle issue while Tim Ream is suffering from an arm injury. Both will probably be out for some time now.
  • While Aleksandr Mitrovic is pushing for a move away to Al-Hilal with a lucrative deal. Reportedly, he has been training alone away from the rest of the squad. Whereas, the new arrival Raul Jimenez gets ready to make his debut in this match. However, he will have to compete with Carlos Vinicius for a start in the game.
