There were then positive tests for Lucas Hernandez and Tanguy Nianzou on Monday. The Bundesliga leaders are also without Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr, who have both reported for African Cup of Nations duty. Bayern Munich could be missing 13 players for the Bundesliga restart. Bayern Munich have confirmed that Leroy Sané and Dayot Upamecano have tested positive for coronavirus and are now isolating.

Bundesliga: FC Bayern Munich Official Statement

Leroy Sané and Dayot Upamecano (in Senegal) have been infected with coronavirus. Both players are well and are self-isolating. he FC Bayern squad will not begin their preparations for the second half of the season until 3 January. The start of training had originally been planned for 2 January, but following the changes to the testing and hygiene measures in light of the current pandemic situation, all players, coaches and backroom staff will initially undergo PCR tests on the morning of 3 January.
Four players will definitely miss the first training session of the year. Manuel Neuer (in the Maldives), Kingsley Coman (Dubai), Corentin Tolisso (France) and Omar Richards have tested positive for coronavirus. They are all doing well, as is assistant coach Dino Toppmöller, who has also tested positive for the virus. They are all self-isolating.

Two more FC Bayern players have tested positive for the coronavirus and are now self-isolating at their current location.

The players are Lucas Hernandez (in the Maldives) and Tanguy Nianzou. Both are well. For Leroy Sane, Josip Stanisic and Dayot Upamecano, a diagnosis has not yet been received.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr are both at the African Cup of Nations, and it is unclear whether Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry will be available for Friday’s clash with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Without them, up to 13 first team players could be missing.
