Many of the world’s top players have flocked to Saudi Arabia’s Pro League in the past two years, including world beaters Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, as well as Neymar. However, Bruno Fernandes says he’s not thinking of leaving Manchester United, despite speculation linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Fernandes is just one of the players to be approached by Saudi Arabian clubs, with more players expected to join the exodus in January. Earlier this month, it was reported that an unnamed Saudi club had opened talks with his agent to discuss the possibility of leaving Old Trafford in exchange for a lucrative contract.

However, Fernandes allied those fears in a recent interaction, saying he is happy at Manchester United at the moment.

Happy where I am: Bruno Fernandes

“I’m focusing on the national team and United. I’m happy where I am. In the national team we had some very good times. At Manchester United we didn’t start the way we wanted. I don’t look at rumours. I don’t pay attention to them. Today, it’s very easy to spread rumours in the press. I prefer to concentrate on my goals,” Fernandes told Sport TV

Fernandes is one of the most impressive additions to United’s squad in recent years. Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag handed Fernandes the captaincy band ahead of this season’s campaign. The Spaniard is also contracted to the club until June 2026 after signing a long-term extension last summer.

However, he has not been immune to criticism over the past few months. United’s struggles on the pitch have led to questions about his capabilities. In the aftermath of the derby defeat at the hands of Manchester City at the turn of October, former captain Roy Keane was one of those who called for him to be relieved of his captaincy. However, Fernandes has the trust of Ten Hag. It looks like he is going to be a part of the Red Devils for many more seasons.
