The teenage player moved in on a loan from Beckham-owned Inter Miami in January. He appeared to have done enough to earn a permanent deal after scoring his first goal for Brentford’s reserve team in February.

In order to acquire his services on a permanent basis, it is thought that the Londoners would pay a minor compensation sum to his parent club Miami. Romeo reportedly decided to remain with the London-based club in order to be nearer to Mia Regan, the woman he has been dating for more than three years.

“We added Romeo to our squad in January and he’s been fantastic for the group,” Brentford B coach Neil MacFarlane said.

“We’ve continued to develop him in and out of possession and we look forward to him coming back in good spirits to continue working with him next season.”
