Brazil vs Argentina Live: World Cup Qualifiers LIVE – BRA vs ARG LIVE – Argentina face Brazil in their last match of the year. Las Albicelestes lost their first match since their defeat against Saudi Arabia in last year’s World Cup. However, they are still at the top of CONMEBOL’s table with a 2 point table. On the other hand, Brazil have not been impressive in their campaign so far. They’ve fallen down to 5th place in the table. Even though there are a lot of games left to be played, both teams will look to improve their situation.
Brazil last won the World Cup back in 2002. Since then, their World Cup campaign has not gone well. They were knocked out of the quarter-finals in 4 of the last 5 World Cup campaigns including last year’s.
Since the end of last year’s World Cup, they’ve played 8 games. They’ve lost 4 of them, drawn 1, and won only 3. With 2 wins, 1 draw, and 2 defeats, Selecao are in 5th position in the table. They will look to go back to winning ways with a 2-game winless run in their last 2 matches.
Contrary to Selecao’s situation, Argentina beat France in the last World Cup final to win their 3rd World champions title. They went into the competition with a 36-game unbeaten run. They lost against Saudi Arabia in the World Cup’s first game.
However, since then, they started a 100% winning run which ended after 14 games against Uruguay in their last game a few days ago. They are still at the top of the table. However, they will still look to keep winning. They will especially like to extend their unbeaten run to 4 games against Brazil.

Brazil Team News
- Brazil have a number of injuries who are set to miss the match against Argentina. Neymar, Eder Militao, Ederson, Richarlison, Casemiro, and Danilo are out with various injuries. They also sustained a new injury as Vinicius Junior was taken off in their last match against Colombia with a hamstring issue.
- Vinicius Jr’s absence will see the coach forced into making a difficult change to the squad. After he was taken off, the coach called up Joao Pedro in his place. The Brighton forward could now be called up to feature in the starting XI.
- However, the coach will most probably call up Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli in the vacant position. On the other hand, Douglas Luiz should be called up to feature in the midfield alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Andre. Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus has started training again after recovering from a hamstring issue.
- However, he will most probably spend his day on the bench. Endrick, the 17-year-old youngster from Palmeiras who is set to join Real Madrid next year, debuted for Selecao in their last match. He should again have some sort of involvement in the final third in this match.
Argentina Team News
- Following a shock defeat in their last match, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni will be tempted to make many changes to his squad. However, it can be expected that not a lot of changes will be made.
- A significant change in the final third should include the introduction of Lautaro Martinez in the final third. This will see Nicolas Gonzalez make way for the Inter Milan forward.
- The coach could ask Man City star Julian Alvarez to feature in a much wider position. However, any more changes in the squad seems unlikely. Rodrigo De Paul should retain his position in the midfield.
- Surprisingly, Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho was left out from the squad that was called up for the matches. He joined his club teammate Lisandro Martinez who is now out due to a foot problem.
