Brazil drew against Venezuela in their recent World Cup qualifiers match. This saw them fall down from their table-topper position to the 2nd position behind Argentina. The fans are not at all happy with the result, especially after the fact that Selecao have fallen behind arch-rivals Albicelestes. Fans have now become livid after reports came out that the Brazil trio Neymar, Vinicius Jr, and Richarlison went to a party with influencers on the night before their match that probably lasted the entire night.
Brazil had good results as the World Cup qualifiers started and they won both of their first 2 games. With a greater goal difference, they were also occupying the table-topper position. Argentina were occupying the 2nd position with the same points, but a lesser goal difference. With Argentina winning their 3rd qualifiers match and Brazil drawing theirs, they have fallen behind the world champions. The fans are livid with the team’s performance. Especially considering that none of their forwards were able to shoot a ball on target.
Fans became angrier as reports emerged from journalist Matheus Baldi that 3 of their first-choice forwards were out partying on the night before the match. Apparently, Neymar, Vinicius Jr, and Richarlison were partying with a bunch of renowned Instagram influencers. Reportedly, there is even video footage as proof that one of the attendee influencers could be seen leaving the team hotel on Friday morning, the day of the match. If the reports are true, then fatigue could have played a part in the 3 forwards’ performance.
Brazil had the odds in their favour going into this match. However, their performance was not up to the mark and the forwards were quite inefficient. It was actually the Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes that gave Selecao the lead, 50 minutes into the match. However, their 2-match winning streak of the tournament didn’t last long when Venezuela’s Eduard Bello scored the equalizer with only 5 minutes left on the clock. Selecao ended the match on a 1-1 scoreline that ended their home matches streak as well.
Brazil were eliminated from the World Cup quarter-finals last year. Since then, they have played 3 friendlies and 3 competitive matches in the World Cup qualifiers. They lost 2 of those friendlies. However, they turned it around when the competitive matches began with 2 straight wins in their first 2 matches against Bolivia and Peru. However, they dropped points against Venezuela after drawing 1-1 against them. They also lost the table top position to Argentina.
