Bayern Munich and Real Madrid faced off each other in the first semi finals of the UEFA Champions League. Both the European giants played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena in Germany. Vinicius Jr’s brace was enough to keep Real Madrid comfortable in the tie with all to play for in the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In a clash of titans, fans were up for an exciting clash. Vinicius Junior came to the rescue of Real Madrid to take the tie back to Spain. He opened the account for Los Blancos with an early first goal. But then Bavarians came back strongly. Bayern Munich scored twice in just 5 minutes to stage a grand comeback.
The visitors headed into the break with a 1-0 lead. Leroy Sane equalised it in less than 10 minutes of the start of the second half. Minutes later ace striker Harry Kane scored from the spot to give his side a 2-1 lead. And finally, in the 83rd minute of the gave, up stepped Vinicius to score from the spot to level the game.

“We always want to win but we know that this competition is like that, you can’t give away balls because teams score the chances they have. We have to keep our heads calm, rest until next week and we know that we and the fans are going to leave everything at the Santiago Bernabeu to qualify. Now it’s time for a magical night at home to win and secure our place in the final,” Vinicius Jr said after the game.
“Everything we’re fighting for is in this competition. We’ve just got to find a way to get it done. Real Madrid away is going to be tough but we’ve got to go there with full belief and go for the win. The Champions League is the biggest of them all. If we can somehow get our hands on it, it will be an amazing season – but there’s still a long way to go,” said Harry Kane.
