England captain Harry Kane’s transfer saga finally seems to be on its way toward a conclusion as Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly agreed to a fee in principle with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich for the transfer of the forward.
Bayern Munich, who were desperate to land the Tottenham star, had seen two bids rejected by Daniel Levy and Co previously as the Tottenham board held out for 100 million Euros for their star striker.

Reports in England have suggested that the deal agreed by both parties is in excess of the magic number of 100 million Euros that the North London club was looking for.
Kane wanted his transfer situation resolved before the start of the English Premier League on Saturday. Reports in England also suggested that he was happy under new Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou and was inclined to extend his stay at North London by signing a contract extension. However, with the agreement in place between both clubs, it is uncertain whether Kane would be open to a move to Germany.
Alan Shearer’s EPL record
To make matters more complicated, Harry Kane is only 48 goals away from being the all-time top scorer in the English Premier League. The England striker surpassed Owen Rooney last season to become the 2nd highest goal scorer, with only Alan Shearer standing between Harry Kane and the rare feat. Leaving Tottenham now would see Shearer keeping the record to his name while Kane would remain as the 2nd highest scorer.
What a move to Bayern would mean for Kane?
Despite its status as a top-6 club in the Premier League, Tottenham has failed to present itself as a club with the ambition of winning trophies, only reaching one UEFA Champions League final in the last decade. As one of the best strikers of his generation, Harry Kane has time and again pulled Tottenham out of trouble but his red-hot form has not ensured silverware for the North London club. Moving to Bayern Munich would virtually mean Kane could finally add some trophies to his near-empty trophy cabinet.
