Bayern Munich see £60 million bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane rejected

Bayern Munich has reportedly offered £60 million to Tottenham Hotspur for the acquisition of their striker Harry Kane, with the intention of outbidding Manchester United. However, Tottenham has declined the offer.

Bayern Munich has allegedly made a £60 million approach for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in order to beat Manchester United to his signature. Kane, the club and country’s all-time leading scorer, is out of contract in the summer of 2024, and contract talks were halted last season.

Kane has emerged as a key target for Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel, who is looking to enhance his attacking options for the 2023-24 season. The German giants have filed a formal proposal for the 29-year-old that exceeds £60 million ($77 million) with add-ons, but the deal has already been rejected.

It has previously been stated that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants more than £100 million ($127 million) for Kane, with Manchester United also said to be interested, despite the fact that he only has one year remaining on his contract.

Bayern’s initial bid, on the other hand, is a strong declaration of purpose. They are now taking actual efforts to recruit Kane, while United remain on the sidelines amid a tumultuous takeover saga at Old Trafford. Kane has also been linked with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain after hinting that he might be open to leaving Tottenham.

Kane has spent his whole career at Tottenham, where he has scored 280 goals in 435 games across all competitions. It remains to be seen if the England international will be open to a move overseas, given that he is currently only 47 goals behind Alan Shearer in the all-time Premier League scorers list and has publicly stated his desire to break the record.

Kane is currently on vacation after impressing for England in their most recent series of Euro 2024 qualifiers, and is slated to return to Spurs for pre-season in mid-July. By then, his destiny should be much clearer, with Bayern currently in pole position to sign him.
