Barcelona Transfer: Lionel Messi left Barcelona two years ago owing to financial woes, which Barcelona still have not been able to solve entirely. Hence, as Barcelona are determined to bring Leo Messi back to Camp Nou, they will have to adjust their wage bill a lot to bring him in. With that intention, they approached Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie, but both players rejected to take any pay cut on new deals. Follow La Liga LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.
There have been many rumours and several Barcelona officials have talked about how Lionel Messi could be coming back to Camp Nou. However, Barcelona are yet to present a solid offer or deal to the World Cup winner Argentine. Reportedly, they actually can’t do that unless they lower their entire wage bill by at least £180 million. Otherwise, La Liga will not give the green signal to bring on any player.
🚨 Barcelona made a proposal to Franck Kessié and Andreas Christensen to reduce their salary, but the response was negative.

Barcelona already presented La Liga with a financial plan to get that green signal. However, La Liga did not consider the plan to be feasible enough, so they rejected it. As per reports, Barcelona now tried to approach defender Andreas Christensen and midfielder Franck Kessie to sign a new deal with reduced pay, so they can bring in new players including Lionel Messi during this summer transfer window.
However, none of the players were happy with the matter and both rejected the new deals. Reportedly, both players pointed out their commitment to the club. They pointed out how they rejected several new and some better offers to join Barcelona on free transfers during the last summer transfer window. Hence, these new deals after less than a year from Barcelona are unwarranted and they will not sign the deals.
As per reports, representatives of Barcelona and Lionel Messi are set to meet next week to discuss new deals, resolve any issues, and agree on terms. However, Barcelona will not be able to present any official and attainable deal to the player if they can’t come up with any solution to their financial woes before that. Additionally, asking players to reduce their fees does not seem like the best way to go for the club.
In reality, not just Leo Messi, but Barcelona will not be able to sign any new player this transfer window owing to their financial issues. Additionally, their key player youngster Gavi has been unregistered by the league and he is now playing on his youth deal which ends by the end of this season. They will either have to sell some players or they will not only lose the opportunity to bring in new players, but they will also lose their key player Gavi.
