Barcelona & Brazil Legend Ronaldinho affirms Kolkata visit during Durga Puja

Ronaldinho, a Barcelona and Brazil legend, confirms his coming to Kolkata during Durga Puja and writes a sweet message for football fans.

Ronaldinho, the former Brazil and FC Barcelona great, is scheduled to visit Kolkata, India, in mid-October. Football enthusiasts in the City of Joy are sure to like this trip, which is a part of a Satadru Dutta effort. Earlier this year, Satadru Dutta took Argentina’s World Cup-winning custodian Emiliano Martinez to India, where he toured the famed Kolkata Maidan and a few other locations.

Ronaldinho expressed his excitement for the impending trip in an official statement made by the football legend:

“Hello Everybody, I will be doing my maiden trip to Kolkata this mid-October and will participate in many charitable activities, including visiting my R10 Football academy where I will interact with kids at Merlin Rise. Will also see the many cultural aspects and be part of the Durga Puja Festivities by visiting Shree Bhumi Sporting, Ahirtola Yuvak Brindo, Baruipur, Green Park & Rishra.”

Ronaldinho’s visit to Kolkata goes beyond football-related activities. He intends to fully embrace the city’s rich cultural heritage, especially during the festive Durga Puja season.

The football legend has plans to tour various prominent Durga Puja pandals, such as Shree Bhumi Sporting, Ahirtola Yuvak Brindo, Baruipur, Green Park, and Rishra. This will provide fans and well-wishers with the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the global icon amidst the vibrant festivities.

Additionally, Ronaldinho’s itinerary includes participation in a charity football match and a special appearance at the Diamond Harbour FC ground. During his visit, he will engage with sponsors, take part in felicitation programs, and promote the beautiful game of football, which holds a special place in the hearts of many Indians.

In a gesture of friendship, Ronaldinho expressed his keenness to meet the Honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal and present her with a football jersey as a token of goodwill. Furthermore, he revealed his interest in delving into cricket, India’s most beloved sport, and learning from Kolkata’s very own ‘Dada,’ Sourav Ganguly.

It’s worth noting that Ronaldinho Gaucho’s previous visit to India occurred in 2017 when he represented the Delhi Dragons in the Indian Futsal League. One of the standout moments during his time in the Futsal league was when he showcased his football prowess by scoring four goals against the Mumbai Warriors.
