Lionel Messi guided Argentina to their second World Cup victory in the winter of 2022. The Argentine scored seven times in the World Cup and won the Golden Ball for the best player of the tournament. However, Argentina’s World Cup victory was only possible because of a team effort. The Argentine contingent led by Lionel Scaloni played as a team. And four footballers of Messi’s World Cup winning team will have seats allotted to them in the Ballon d’Or 2023 ceremony.

4 Argentina players to be present

First of all, Lionel Messi will most certainly be present at the ceremony. The Inter Miami striker is the frontrunner to win the Ballon d’Or award.

Argentina goalkeeper Emi Martinez will be present at the ceremony too. The Aston Villa goalkeeper has been nominated for the Yashin Award and has a very good chance of winning the trophy due to his largely dominant display in the World Cup with Argentina.

Lionel Messi’s fellow striking partner Julian Alvarez will be there to attend the ceremony. Alvarez won the World Cup with Argentina and treble with Manchester City. The Argentine has been one of the most decorated player of last season, getting his hands on almost every trophy there was to win.

Another Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez would also grace the occasion with his presence. In addition to winning the World Cup with Argentina, he reached the final of UEFA Champions League with his club Inter Milan.
