The 33-year-old was frozen out by Graham Potter and also left out of the Blues’ last match against Fulham. He was also dropped from the Champions League squad altogether to make way for new signings. As per the report, the loan deal between the Gabon international and MSL club is valid until June, after which it seems almost certain Aubameyang will leave the club permanently.
The Barcelona striker landed at Chelsea after being lured by former manager Thomas Tuchel last summer. The pair knew each other well from their time together at Borussia Dortmund.
Following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, Aubamayang was expected to lead the forward line and help Tuchel lift silverware. However, the player from Gabon netted just three times in 17 games with Potter at the helm.
Sources: LAFC are indeed in talks about potentially signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. There’s truth to the talks, though sources stress nothing is close.
