Philippe Coutinho came off the bench to grab a late equaliser on his debut as Aston Villa came from two goals down to draw with Manchester United. The visitors were gifted the lead just five minutes into the game when Villa goalkeeper Emi Martínez spilt a shot from Bruno Fernandes into the net after a well-worked short free-kick from United.

Fernandes extended that advantage deep into the second half when his powerful shot from 15 yards out crashed in off the crossbar after being played through by Fred. Jacob Ramsey placed the ball into the top corner after the ball had ricocheted into his path inside the box before Coutinho sent Villa Park into hysterics with his vital contribution. Ramsey’s pass across the box found the Brazilian at the far post who was on hand to tap home to complete the comeback as Villa move above Brentford into 13th. Ralf Rangnick’s side remain in seventh in the table.
