“The FA is aware of the matter in question and are looking into it,” an FA spokesperson told The Athletic. Players have been issued with lengthy suspensions in the past after being found guilty of manipulating games for betting purposes.
In 2018, Lincoln City defender Bradley Wood was handed a six-year ban for intentionally receiving yellow cards. Since the start of the 2016/17 season, Granit Xhaka has received more cards (50) than any other player in the Premier League having played 171 games and has received 46 yellow cards and 4 red cards.
