The Player Status Committee (PSC) has asked the AIFF Players’ Status Department not to approve any request regarding the Anwar Ali issue. This means till the next PSC hearing, Anwar Ali will not be able to undergo a transfer or be reintegrated into any team’s squad.
The PSC has informed about the decision to the AIFF along with the three parties involved (which includes Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Delhi FC). The next PSC meeting is slated to be eld on 13th August 2024. This necessarily means that neither Mohun Bagan or East Bengal can register Anwar Ali to play in their next Durand Cup fixture.
Mohun Bagan next plays Indian Air Force on 8th August while East Bengal take on Downtown Heroes on7th August. The two sides will meet in the highly anticipated Kolkata Derby on 18th August at the Salt Lake Stadium.
No Transfer for Anwar Ali till next meeting
Mohun Bagan has got their stay on Anwar Ali saga. After yesterday’s PSC meeting it was revealed that Anwar’s contract termination was unjust. While Mohun Bagan will be asked to provide an NOC to the player, both Delhi FC and East Bengal is expected to be levied upon huge sanctions and fines.
But Mohun Bagan has now finally got a stay on the player. This essentially means that East Bengal would be unable to register the player for their next Durand Cup fixture. As the case is still ongoing, the PSC has asked the AIFF Players’ Status Department to not approve any transfer request by any club.
