Anwar Ali saga: PSC deems Anwar Ali's contract termination unjust, sanctions & compensation likely to be imposed on East Bengal & Delhi FC

The Player Status Committee (PSC) has finally given their verdict on the Anwar Ali saga. It has deemed that the termination of the player is unjust. But on the same note, Mohun Bagan will be asked give the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the player since it concerns the livelihood of the player. But, now both Delhi FC and East Bengal have been given 5 days to respond to the matter.

Since the termination of the contract is unjust and Anwar has signed a fresh contract with East Bengal, both the Red and Gold Brigade and Delhi FC can likely have hefty sanctions imposed on them. Along with potential transfer bans, the player himself can face a ban. Furthermore, the two clubs can be made to pay a hefty compensation which will be finalized by the PSC.

Earlier, Mohun Bagan demanded a compensation of rupees 20 crore. It remains to be seen what the final amount will be based on the ruling of the PSC. But after this hearing, both East Bengal and Delhi FC now has been given a time frame of 5 days to respond to the PSC.

Sources close to the developments involved InsideSport that Mohun Bagan will be seeking huge compensation monetarily for the player. Furthermore, the Mariners will also be seeking for a ban imposed on their arch rivals and Delhi FC. The Green and Maroon brigade is expected to release an official statement on the matter very soon.

As things stand, the PSC will direct Mohun Bagan to grant an NOC since it concerns the livelihood of the player. But since Mohun Bagan’s contract with Anwar Ali is valid till 2027, his contract termination has been deemed un just. Since, Anwar had singed a pre contract with East Bengal, the club along with Delhi FC has been asked to respond to the PSC. And now it remains to see as to what sanctions are imposed on both the clubs.
