Anthony Martial Transfer: Premier League: Manchester United are looking to boost its squad ahead of the 2023/24 season and there is a fresh update regarding their forward Anthony Martial. Ex-West Ham star Frank McAvennie has said that Anthony Martial is looking for a permanent move from Manchester United in the summer. The 27-year-old forward is currently recovering from the injury.

Martial has appeared in 13 Premier League matches under Erik ten Hag, scoring four goals and two assists. He has been outstanding for Man United but injury gave him a tough time. He featured in 1072 first-team minutes so far. He also has two goals in EFL Cup in Man United’s successful campaign this season.

The Guardian also reported that Anthony Martial is one of those players who will be sold out this summer. Erik ten Hag has picked some names to offload before the new season.

McAvennie spoke to Football Insider regarding the Man United forward and when he was asked about Martial’s future, the West Ham star said, “No. I think they need an out and out striker. He has been doing well the last couple of games because [Marcus] Rashford has not been playing. I do not know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.”

The former West Ham star also noted Martial’s recent appearances under Erik ten Hag and he added, “He has been playing better but it is coming to the end of the season, maybe he is playing better because he wants a move. He is a talented boy but you can’t play for a club like Manchester United and not put in 100 per cent every week. You can’t do that at all. Martial, no matter how talented he is, has not been doing it.”

Anthony Martial will see his contract expiring in 14 months at Old Trafford. The Frenchman joined the Red Devils in 2015 from AS Monaco. With the club, he won three trophies including this year’s EFL Cup. The 27-year-old has netted 86 goals in 289 matches across all competitions. He will be regarded as one of the finest in the last 5 years.

Erik ten Hag was also about Anthony Martial’s future at Manchester United next season and he said, “From my point of view, yes.”

He also added, “He’s a great player – he definitely has the qualities to play in top football – and when he is fit our team plays better”.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are in a different plan for the summer. They want someone who can replicate Ronaldo’s figure and improve the club’s striking ability. They roped a fresh name on loan this winter but it didn’t work out. Erik ten Hag and Man United’s scouts are working hard to get at least two better strikers in the summer transfer window.
