Baptistao-Svidersky OUT, Suarez to lead as Almeria hosts Real Madrid in La Liga

Almeria will face in-form Real Madrid at the Estadio Mediterráneo in the top-flight encounter. Both sides are dealing with injuries.

La Liga 2023/24: Almeria vs Real Madrid: Almeria will host one more game at the Estadio Mediterráneo and this time, they will meet in-form Real Madrid in the top-flight encounter. Both sides locked horns in April and played out a 6-goal thriller. Almeria finished 17th in the table and survived relegation. They would eye to improve their game to find a consolation point against Madrid considering the form. They lost to Rayo Vallecano 2-0 in their opening La Liga game last week.

Almeria were the side who defeated title winners Barcelona last season and they have a habit to make a surprise in the Spanish top flight. Real Madrid are dealing with a new attacking system since the departure of Karim Benzema. They beat Athletic Club 2-1 in the last game. Vicente Moreno’s side can turn the table at home but they have to update their goal-scoring ability which was missing against Rayo.

Almeria Team News For La Liga game

The hosts showed some intent in the summer transfer window following a poor show in 2022/23. Luis Suarez arrived on a permanent basis from Marseille. Almeria signed three more players Ibrahima Kone, Dion Lopy and Sergio Arribas. Luis Suarez’s arrival can solve the attacking issues and he will lead the attack throughout the season.

Almeria also lost El Bilal Toure to Napoli but Vicente Moreno can be confident of this squad. This squad can give a tough time to Los Blancos. Meanwhile, their past results are narrating a different story as the hosts have lost each of their last seven top-flight games against Los Blancos.

Vicente Moreno can take few positives from the previous defeat as they hold the best possession and pass accuracy. Rayo scored two goals through penalties. it means Almeria didn’t concede clear goals. Still, they need improvement and Moreno would opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation against Real Madrid.

Edgar Gonzalez will continue to play at his natural position in the middle of the defence.
