Brushing off the disappointment of the unsuccessful pursuit of Kylian Mbappe, Al-Hilal has made an attempt now to lure Neymar away from Paris as the Saudi-side tabled a lucrative bid to Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
Several reports coming out of France claim that the Saudi side has had the bid accepted. Negotiations continue on player’s side as Al-Hilal await Neymar’s nod to seal the deal.
Neymar had reportedly informed PSG about his intention to leave the club this summer after six years at the club, having played 173 games and scoring 118 goals.
If Neymar accepts Al-Hilal’s offer, it would further strengthen the Saudi Pro League after some of football’s top talents moved to the middle-eastern country this summer.
Neymar has been heavily linked with a return to Barcelona in the summer, with ex-teammate Sergi Roberto previously revealing details about his chat with the Brazilian international about a return to Camp Nou. Roberto claimed Neymar would be “excited” at the prospect of playing in Spain again.
Neymar was also linked with a reunion with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami but both clubs remained tight-lipped about the authenticity of those reports.
Mbappe’s future
Kylian Mbappe has been reintegrated into the Paris Saint Germain team, a statement by PSG confirmed.
Mbappe’s refusal to sign a new contract and his desire to move away from Paris in the summer of 2024 as a free agent locked the French superstar in a battle with the PSG management.
The management believed Mbappe had signed a pre-agreement with Real Madrid to join the Spanish giants as a free agent
However, the situation seems to moving towards an amicable end, following PSG’s 0-0 draw with Lorient last night.
“Following very constructive, positive talks between PSG and Kylian Mbappé before game vs Lorient, the player has been reinstated into first team training squad this morning”, said PSG in a statement
