AFC Asian Cup: India Football Team have mountains to climb if they want to reach knockouts

The India Football Team slumped to a humiliating 3-0 loss to Uzbekistan in their second group stage match. The Blue Tigers lost their first AFC Asian Cup match 2-0 against Australia. With 0 points from 2 games, Sunil Chhetri and Co will need a win against Syria to stay alive in the competition.

India is currently at the bottom of the Points Table in Group B. With a goal difference of -5, they have mountains to climb if they aim for the knockouts. However, the dream is yet to be mathematically over for Team India.

India were resilient against the Aussies but ended up conceding two goals in the second half of the match. But the scene was entirely in the second match. India leaked an early goal, as early as 4 minutes. The opposition then doubled their lead at the 18th minute.

The final nail in the coffin was put in the dying minutes of the first half when the White Wolves took a 3-0 lead against the helpless Tigers. India however, still have a chance. If they manage to beat Syria by a big margin they can qualify to the knockouts by virtue of being in one of the top ranked 3rd placed team.
