Following the successful conclusion of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament, Qatar is now preparing to host the AFC Asian Cup 2023, the most prestigious competition in Asian football. This will be the third time that Qatar will be hosting the tournament, following the 1988 and 2011 editions.

Nine stadiums will host a total of 51 matches in the AFC Asian Cup 2023. 24 teams have been divided into six groups. Seven stadiums that has previously hosted football matches during Qatar 2022 World Cup will host Asian Cup matches too.

AFC Asian Cup Ticket Prices

The tickets for the gala event will go live on 10th October. The ticket prices start from as low as 25 Qatari Riyal or 570 Indian Rupees for residents and international fans alike. The highest ticket price of the final stands at 250 Qatari Riyal or 5,720 Indian Rupees. Tickets for the game will all be e-tickets, lessening the hustle of fans at the time of entering the stadium. The tickets can be bought only at the tournament’s official website.

Easing it further for international fans, Hassan Rabeea Al Kuwari, Marketing and Communications Executive Director of the Asian Cup Qatar 2023 Local Organizing Committee, affirmed that it is not necessary for fans to obtain an accreditation for Hayya, as was the case at the World Cup.

“For the Asian Cup, there is no special thing like Hayya card. It will be business as usual for fans. It’s not mandatory to have a Hayya card to enter the stadium. Nor is it linked to the tickets,” he said in a media interaction.

The Indian football team, who will participate in two Group B fixtures Australia and Uzbekistan at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, will bank on the 700,000 residing Indians to fill the stadiums.
