adidas launch limited edition boots to honour Lionel Messi’s Ballon d’Or win

In commemoration of Lionel Messi's Ballon d'Or victory—the Argentine won the award for a record-tying eighth time—Adidas has released special limited edition boots.

Following Lionel Messi’s Ballon d’Or 2023 victory, Adidas released special edition Leo Messi “El Ocho” Ballon d’Or Crazy fast footwear. Lionel Messi defeated Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe to win a record eighth Golden Ball. Adidas, Argentina’s long-time garment brand partner, has gone above and above to commemorate Messi’s legacy!

Adidas has launched a limited edition Messi “El Ocho” X Crazyfast.1 football footwear with a distinctive design of the striker’s famous X Crazyfast boot. It’s got a new colour scheme inspired by the golden tones found on a Ballon d’Or trophy. The eight balls on the side of Messi’s footwear signify each year he was named the best player in the world.

Each boot has a golden goat’s head immediately below the laces. With a stylish embossed design, the words ‘El Mejor Del Mundo’ (The Best in the World) decorate the exterior of the boot.

At the moment, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Inter Miami’s Chinese trip. As a result, Messi is expected to debut the Ballon d’Or-inspired footwear with Argentina’s national team. The Albiceleste will play Uruguay and Brazil in the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign next month.

Insidesport

Adidas, Argentina’s long-standing sportswear brand partner, has commissioned eight 14-carat gold rings. Each Ballon d’Or winner pays respect to Messi’s accomplishments. Later this year, each ring will be up for auction, with all revenues benefiting charity chosen by Messi and Adidas.
