Wayne Rooney has a love for boxing and rumour has it, he has been wanting to get into boxing for quite some time now. For that, he has contacted Eddie Hearn to search for a fight for him. It seems that the man has found a fight in the form of YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul aka ‘The Problem Child’.

Hearn said that Rooney contacted him many times before looking for a fight, but Rooney was drunk every time. However, Hearn confirmed that this time it’s different and it could be the start of Rooney’s boxing career. Reportedly, the fight is supposed to be held at Old Trafford, where Rooney has spent most of his career and was loved.

It would a new and unique event for Jake Paul. However, even he changed his career only 2 years ago after a decent career in the entertainment industry. Till now, he has fought 7 fights, losing only 1 in his last match on a split decision against Tommy Fury, brother of the legendary boxer, Tyson Fury.

Rooney was a bit problematic and complicated player at the beginning of his career when he was at Everton. However, after he joined Manchester United, once he started learning under legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson, he bettered and got back on track. Since then, he went on to score the highest number of goals for both Manchester United and England.

Wayne Rooney became the top scorer for Manchester United after scoring 253 goals in 559 appearances and for England after scoring 53 goals in 120 appearances. Near the end of his career, he went back to his childhood club Everton and then moved to the MLS team, DC United, and then to the English club, Derby Country.

He even started his coaching career in August, 2020 as he was presented as the England team coach for the 2020 Soccer Aid. The 2020-21 season was going horribly for Derby Country as they dropped their lowest in 12 years at the bottom of the table. Rooney brought them out of the relegation zone, but he couldn’t stop the inevitable as the club got relegated to League One the next season. He left the job at Derby Country in June, 2022. A month later, in July, 2022, he was announced as the new coach of DC United.
