French club Paris Saint German’s mission to deliver Champions League glory failed miserably once again as the Ligue 1 club was knocked out in the Champions League last 16 for the 5th time in 12 seasons despite splurging on star players. PSG suffered a 2-0 defeat against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, after recording a 1-0 defeat in Paris two weeks prior, to extend their European silverware drought.
The desperate French giant is now mulling to bring more star power to boast their chances for next season. According to reports, The Parisians are targeting Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as part of a squad overhaul. A report in L’Équipe has claimed that PSG is bent on convincing Osimhen to snub a Premier League move and compete in Ligue 1. Notably, Osimhen has been heavily linked with Premier League club Manchester United.
A meeting between Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda and Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting advisor Luís Campos reportedly took place a few days ago, however, the center-forward is still keen on Premier League move this summer.
Speaking to The Athletic, Osimhen revealed that he is ‘working hard’ to play in the Premier League. “I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League someday but like I said, it’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well.”

Meanwhile, Silva, whose contract runs with City until the summer of 2025, has been linked with a move away from the Premier League champions for much of the transfer window.
While the Portuguese footballer was linked heavily with FC Barcelona in the winter transfer window, the 28-year-old has expressed his desire to return to Benfica for another stint.
Speaking to a Portuguese outlet Record, he said: “Going into a new project at the age of 29, I’ll only finish this contract probably at 34. If you ask me: what did you think 10 years ago? My goal was to return to Benfica at the age of 32 at the most. What do I think today? It depends on what happens next summer. I’m not going to lie: it’s not something I don’t think about. I think about it every year. It has always been a goal.”
