Brendon Rodgers showed his interest in the 30-year-old defender and he is keen to bring the former player to the club. The Foxes’ boss feels he would be a huge capture and can sort out a defense. Leicester had a tough season and they are struggling for survival.
Meanwhile, Leicester City is also targeting other options such as Odilon Kossounou at Bayer Leverkusen. However, the loan move of Maguire would be their first priority.
The loan deal will work for both parties. The Old Trafford club would look for a full salary to ease any financial pain for them. Maguire didn’t get games under Erik ten Hag but he is in the plan for Gerath Southate for Euro 2024. He played both games for England where they defeated Euro Champions, Italy, and Ukraine.
Earlier, Maguire spoke to the media regarding his game and Man United, “Obviously this season, I haven’t played as much as I’d like but, for my club, I feel like my form’s been good this year.
He also added, “I know people obviously look at me not playing but when I’ve played I think in my last eight or nine starts for Manchester United we have won. I can’t remember losing a game for Manchester United, it must be the third week of the season. So my influence is still there.”
