Christian Eriksen Injury: Christian Eriksen has been unavailable since January owing to an ankle injury and missed a number of games. As per Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag, Eriksen has now recovered after a long break and will again resume his place in the midfield. He will be included in the squad for this weekend’s Man United vs Everton match. This could give Man United a good enough boost for their final stages toward acquiring more silverware this season. Christian Eriksen got his injury back in January during their FA Cup fourth-round match against Reading FC. He was ruled out till late April or early May, but as per reports from the club, he has recovered and is now back in the training session. However, coach Erik Ten Hag will miss Casemiro in their match against Everton this weekend as this will be the last of his 4-game suspensions.

About how much their absence impacted the team, Ten Hag said, “It is obvious and clear they are two very valuable players for us. We all know how important the midfield department is and over several games we had to find a new balance and that is not easy at this stage of the season.”

Since Casemiro arrived at Manchester United, he became a pivotal part of the squad. He received a red card during their draw against Southampton which resulted in a 4-match ban. Man United still tried to find some balance in the midst of injuries and suspension. However, they still endured 3 winless matches until their 1-0 win in the last match against Brentford.

About finding their way back to a win, Ten Hag said, “It sometimes can be trial and error, bringing new players in and into a different position. That is what we did. Against Brentford, I was very pleased with the performance from the midfield because we played very well there and they did a magnificent job. I think they can progress.”

Manchester United have progressed to the semi-final of the FA Cup and the quarter-finals of the Europa League. They are also sitting in the 4th position in the Premier League table. They are 3 points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the 5th position with an extra game in hand. Hence, if they don’t lose any points anytime soon, they will hold on to the chance of playing in the Champions League next season.

Ten Hag said about their chances, “We have already won a cup, so we have to make it a really successful season. We have a great squad, so I am really positive to get a good final stage of the season and even more silverware. We are in the right spot: competing for the top four of the Premier League, the quarter-final of the Europa League and semi-final of the FA Cup.”
