Mason Mount Contract: Chelsea Transfers: Mason Mount and Chelsea have reached an agreement on a fee of £250,000 a week over the course of three years, keeping Mount in place through 2026. The midfielder, a Blues academy graduate, has less than 18 months left on his Stamford Bridge deal. Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, had emphasised the significance of Mount and N’Golo Kante. Speaking of Mason Mount, Potter said: “Mason has been great to work with. He’s been top. He’s suffering like the rest of us because we want to do better.”

Mount, who has 36 senior international caps to his name and was promoted to the Blues first squad in 2019, has scored 33 goals and provided an additional 37 assists in 192 games across all competitions during that time. The midfielder has only contributed three goals and six assists in 33 games played in all competitions this season and has recently found it difficult to maintain a regular position in the Chelsea and England teams.

Mykhailo Mudryk of Ukraine may have joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk for an initial sum of £62 million, which may increase to £88 million with add-ons, but Blues fans are yet to see the best of their new player. Mudryk, who has demonstrated his talent in tantalising glimmers, is yet certain that he can thrive at Stamford Bridge.

After spending more than £500 million on acquisitions since being acquired by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital last summer, Chelsea has to raise money. The club, which reported losses of £121 million during the 2021–22 season, will be looking to comply with Financial Fair Play requirements.
