The Sheikh’s rival bidder, Jim Ratcliffe will be visiting Old Trafford on Friday. Others who will be joining his entourage are his fellow Ineos owners John Reece and Andy Currie, British Cycling coach Sir Dave Brailsford, Ineos chief executive Rob Nevin, and Jean Claude Blanc. Two other groups have been reported to provide bids for the club’s control along with some partial investment offers.
The Ineos Group want to buy the majority stake that the Glazers hold. Whereas, Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani is looking to buy 100% of the club. The Sheikh has even agreed to pay off the Glazers’ historic debt as their leveraged buyout. However, so far, bids from both parties have fallen behind £1.5 billion on their bids as the highest bid has reached £4.5 billion. Whereas, the Glazers have demanded £6 billion.
