Lionel Messi PSG: Lionel Messi Saudi Arabia Vacation: Lionel Messi was in Saudi Arabia just after a few hours after his team, Paris Saint Germain lost to Lorient in the Ligue 1. Reportedly, Messi’s visit was not approved by manager, Christopher Galtier or by football advisor Luis Campos, and both of them opposed the trip. Messi is the ambassador of Saudi Tourism and the visit came as a part of his commitments. Messi took to his Instagram and posted an image with the caption, “Who thought Saudi has so much green? I love to explore its unexpected wonders whenever I can.”

The Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, also replied to the post and wrote, “I am happy to welcome Saudi Tourism Ambassador Lionel Messi and his family on his second vacation in Saudi. We are happy to share our authentic Saudi welcome with you all #WelcomeMessi.”
Messi’s trip to Saudi Arabia came just after Lorient registered a historic win over PSG on Sunday. PSG were down to 10 men after Hakimi received a red card in the 20th minute of the game. After conceding a goal in the 15th minute, PSG leveled the score with the help of Kylian Mbappe’s goal. However, Lorient proved themselves better than 10 men PSG and scored 2 more goals to secure three points.
Despite the loss, PSG remains in the top position of the Ligue 1. However, their lead has now been reduced to only 5 points and there are 5 more games to be played.

Amidst all this, Lionel Messi’s future at PSG remains uncertain. His contract will expire this summer and PSG are not going to force him to renew the contract. The 35-year-old has been linked to Saudi Club, Al Hilal, who reportedly offered him a contract of around $440 million per year. Barcelona are also keen on bringing Messi back to Camp Nou, but they won’t be able to offer him even 50% of what Al Hilal is due to financial issues.
