Lionel Messi Booing: Ligue 1 Live Updates: Lionel Messi and FC Barcelona reunion is on the cards. While the news has put Barca fans into ecstasy, it seems PSG fans are not too happy with the development. On Tuesday, PSG Ultras once again booed Lionel Messi before the french club’s match against Lyon. The Argentine star’s name was whistled after he was announced over the Parc des Princes PA system. The boos appeared to come from a small group of Paris’ ultras, who have criticesd Messi in recent times. Follow Ligue 1 LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.
A similar situation happened in 2021 when Messi left Barcelona for PSG. Barcelona fans were not happy with the decision and expressed their frustration through social media and protests outside the club’s stadium.
However, the tables seem to have turned, and now it is PSG fans who are unhappy with the prospect of Messi leaving the club after just one season. Messi joined PSG on a free transfer after Barcelona was unable to offer him a new contract due to financial issues. The Argentine star has been in excellent form for PSG, scoring 23 goals and providing 10 assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.

Barcelona’s vice-president Rafa Yuste confirmed on Friday that the Blaugrana are attempting to bring Messi back to his former club and are in contact with his father. Messi is yet to speak on the subject himself, although he did reportedly verbally agree to stay at PSG in December.
Talking about the game, the Paris Saint-German suffered their 2nd successive defeat at home after going down 0-1 against Lyon. Bradley Barcola was the goal scorer for Lyon as the 10th-placed side stunned the table toppers. It was Messi’s 50th appearance in Ligue 1 but the 35-year-old couldn’t contribute much. PSG star Kylian Mbappe was also not involved in the game as much he would have liked.
