Pique Shakira Split: After an ugly split with former Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, Shakira has left the city of Barcelona to start a new journey in her life. She took to Instagram and posted a scenic view of the city to update her fans about recent activities. The 46-year-old was living in Barcelona with her partner Gerard Pique. She was in a relationship with the former Spanish defender for more than 11 years and had a split last summer. Shakira has two sons with Pique, Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8.
According to Diario AS, the father of Gerard Pique, Joan, had served Shakira with an eviction notice from their mansion as the property passed into his hands when the couple was going through a separation. Joan sent Shakira a letter asking her to be out of the mansion by the end of April or pay a big fine.
Recently, the Colombian singer took her Instagram to inform her fans about leaving the city. She wrote, “I settled in Barcelona to give my children stability, the same we are now looking for in another corner of the world next to family, friends and the sea. Today we start a new chapter in the pursuit of their happiness.”

Shakira thanked for the love she received from the city and it’s people. She further wrote, “Thank you to everyone who surfed alongside me so many waves there in Barcelona, the city where I learned that friendship is certainly longer than love. Thank you to everyone who has been there to cheer me up, dried my tears, inspired me and made me grow. Thank you to my Spanish audience who have always wrapped me in their love and loyalty.”
And at the end, she wrote, “For you just a see you later and as my father said so many times, see you around the curves!”
In one of her Instagram stories, Shakira posted an image from her plane and wrote, “But things are not always as we dreamed them. Sometimes we run but we never get there. Don’t doubt that I’ll always be here.”
