The All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) disciplinary committee fined Kerala Blasters Rs 6 CRORE for their walkout against Bengaluru FC after Sunil CHhetri’s dubious goal in the Indian Super League playoff game. Coach Vukomanovic has been charged separately with defaming the game and has been suspended for ten games. But, if a “public apology” is issued, the sentence will be reduced to 4 crores.
The AIFF Disciplinary Committee’s order on Friday also punished Blasters head coach Ivan Vukomanovic, who it said instigated the team’s abandonment of the match and brought the game into disrepute, with a 10-match suspension from AIFF-held tournaments, regardless of which team he is contracted with, as well as a Rs 5 lakh fine under Article 9.1.2. (of the AIFF disciplinary code). This means that Vukomanovic will be barred from entering the team’s dressing room or sitting on the team bench.

Vukomanovic has also been ordered to give a “public apology” for his misbehaviour, failing which the fine and ban will be raised to Rs 10 lakh. The disciplinary committee has given the Blasters and Vukomanovic one week to comply with this instruction. The club and the head coach, however, have the opportunity to launch an appeal against the order. The Blasters are scheduled to compete in the Super Cup, a tournament in which ISL and I-League teams will compete beginning on April 8 in Kozhikode and Manjeri.
