Brazil, on the other hand, were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Croatia, in a penalty shootout. The Selecao were missing several key players in the friendly match, including Neymar, but the team was still expected to put up a better performance against the Moroccans.
Notably, Brazil are currently in a transitional phase, with head coach Tite having departed after six years in charge. The Selecao are currently playing under Ramon Menezes, who led Brazil’s U-20s to the South American championship in February.
