Floyd Mayweather Disses ‘The Eagle’ For His Victory To Conor McGregor

Floyd Mayweather Disses ‘The Eagle’ For His Victory To Conor McGregor

Floyd Mayweather Jr., a boxing superstar who had previously TKO'd the Irishman in a fight in 2017, was unimpressed with the Dagestani.

Few spectators anticipated ‘The Eagle’ to take down the Irishman when Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov squared off in the octagon at UFC 229, but that is exactly what happened. But that’s exactly what took place.

‘The Notorious’ was knocked out by the Dagestani during the second round of their historic fight after being struck by a stunning overhand right from the Dubliner. Later in round four, the master of sambo put an end to the competition by neck-cranking McGregor.

Floyd Mayweather Disses Khabib Nurmagomedov

Despite Nurmagomedov’s extraordinary feat, Floyd Mayweather Jr., a boxing superstar who had previously TKO’d the Irishman in a fight in 2017, was unimpressed with the Dagestani.

‘Money’ retaliated against the fighter for boasting about the knockdown in a 2018 interview with TMZ Sports, saying:

“I saw in an interview, he said when he hit Conor McGregor, he knocked Conor McGregor down. He said I didn’t knock him down. OK, Khabib. You got my leftovers. “

In their respective sports, Mayweather and Nurmagomedov are unbeaten. The two never really faced each other in the ring, despite there once being rumours to that effect.

Insidesport

In contrast, McGregor has been sidelined for more than two years due to a leg injury he sustained at UFC 264 in 2021. The Irishman is anticipated to fight Michael Chandler, a former lightweight champion of Bellator three times, in the UFC once again in 2024.

When Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor squared off in 2017, the boxing icon finished the contest in spectacular fashion by TKOing McGregor in the tenth round. Therefore, ‘Money’ regards himself as superior to the MMA master of boxing.

The former world champion boxer made a subtle jab at “The Notorious” during a part of Cold as Balls with Hollywood icon Kevin Hart, labelling him a knockoff of him.
