FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Brazil announce squad for World Cup qualifiers
Brazil will first face Ecuador away on January 27th 2022 before taking on Paraguay in Belo Horizonte on February 1st 2022. Raphinha made his international debut in October, who has been in electric form for the Selecao, playing five games, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
With eight goals in 17 games, Raphinha has also been in fine form for Leeds this season, topping the club’s goalscoring charts with strikes against the likes of Everton, Newcastle, West Ham, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Fabinho will not be up for selection in the opener against Ecuador as he is suspended after picking up two yellow cards across his last three appearances. Surprusingly Alex Telles has been called up as he started 6 matches continuously for Manchester United since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left the club as Luke Shaw was out due to a head injury.
Brazil coach Tite has left out Renan Lodi for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay because the Atletico Madrid full back has not had a full course of COVID-19 vaccines.
