Harry Kane and the rest of the English team gathered at work beaming. Tomorrow, before their first practise at the Al Wakrah sports centre on Wednesday, England will take a flight to Doha. The Belgium team looks to have boarded the plane and are set to reach Qatar soon as they prepare to get their hands on the coveted trophy. Alex Witsel takes to the Social media to announce that the squad has assembled to reach the destination soon.

With only six days left before the World Cup. the teams have started reaching Qatar in order to begin early preparations. While the USA were the first one to reach so, they were joined by the likes of Qatar, Senegal, South Korea and Australia on Monday. According to reports, Lionel Messi has also arrived at Doha and was received warmly by the national personnel.

Elsewhere the Spanish team assembled to travel to Qatar and expected to reach by November 18. Brazil on the other hand are supposed to reach on the 19th but the squads have started gathering as they prepare for the biggest war of football.

Neymar and Marquinhos arrived late for the first day of World Cup training on Monday due to problems with their flight from Paris to Turin where Brazil are holding a five-day camp before flying to Doha. All 26 players in the squad were due to report on Monday morning to the Juventus training facility but Neymar and Marquinhos, who play for Paris St Germain, were delayed because the aircraft had to be changed due to mechanical problems.

At the same time, the Portugal National team had gotten back together at the training facility and were picture to enjoy a training session together before flying to Qatar.

Earlier the same day, the France National team confirmed Marcus Thuram as the 26th member of the final squad traveling to Qatar. The former Guingamp player has been in four senior team matches for France but has yet to score. Despite appearing in three games for Les Bleus in 2020 and one for the Euros in 2021, he has not been called up for 2022. Following a disappointing season last year, the attacker has performed better in a central role this season, netting 10 goals in the Bundesliga, matching his greatest season on the other side of the Rhine.

Another major change in the squad was the replacement of Presnel Kimpembe  with uncapped Monaco Star Axel Disasi. The 27-year-old, who was part of France’s victorious Russia 2018 campaign, believes he lacks the match fitness and sharpness necessary to play on a World Cup scale and hence withdraws.

However, France are set to reach Qatar on November 16, while England are set to arrive a day prior,  Following is the list of dates and the teams to arrive on them:

  • 10 November: USA
  • 13 November: Morocco
  • 14 November: Tunisia, Iran, South Korea, Switzerland
  • 15 November: Denmark, England, Netherlands, Ecuador
  • 16 November: Senegal, Wales, France, Argentina
  • 17 November: Saudi Arabia, Germany, Canada, Poland, Mexico
  • 18 November: Belgium, Spain, Japan, Croatia, Ghana, Costa Rica
  • 19 November: Cameroon, Portugal, Serbia, Uruguay, Brazil
