Although Marc Owen Jones later refuted Taha’s report. Jones teaches as an adjunct at Qatar’s Haman Bin Khalifa University. He asserts that Taha is an unreliable source who knowingly disseminates false information.
Just a heads up if anyone sees a story about Qatar bribing Ecuador 7.4 million to lose the opening game – it started here from a well-known disinformation account who is somehow also the main source in the story @amjadt25 . It’s already got thousands of RTs though pic.twitter.com/2EjjvqEbBV

Up till now, no one has verified Taha’s allegations. However, Front Office Sports claims that FIFA is becoming more concerned about match-fixing and anticipates over $100 billion in wagers (bets) on the competition.
