FIFA Meets AIFF: FIFA President Gianni Infantino to MEET PM Narendra Modi in October, Major Talks to Commence Development of Indian Football – Check OutLast week Infantino met with president Kalyan Chaubey and secretary general Shaji Prabhakaran in Doha, Qatar to have a constructive and encouraging meeting discussing the key aspects of Indian football.
Earlier last month in August, FIFA with a unanimous decision suspended India from all its events for 11 days, taking away the FIFA 2022 U17 Women’s World Cup hosting rights from India as well. Upon lifting up the ban as soon as the new committee was formed, FIFA returned the rights to India.

During the meeting with Kalyan Chaubey, Infantino expressed his desire to come to India to discuss the roadmap and the development of Indian football in person with the Prime Minister who assure that the arrangement of the U17 Women’s World Cup will not be faced with any shortcomings.
The AIFF is in the concluding stages of planning to host the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in three cities from October 11 to October 30. Infantino’s arrival seems to be convergent with the tournament as well.
