Due to poor scheduling and chances of rain marring the second IND vs PAK encounter on September 10, 15000 tickets for the 3rd match of the Super Fours stage of the Asia Cup 2023 have gone unsold. The chances of the match, which is scheduled at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, being completed are very slim. As per the weather forecast, there is a 90% chance of rain on Sunday and Monday (match day and reserve day).

Amid the kerfuffle between BCCI and PCB, the match venue wasn’t changed, despite both boards knowing that the match could be washed off.
Although the weather seems to have cleared up for the IND vs PAK clash in the afternoon, the chance of rain in the evening and at night remains high.
R Premadasa Stadium has a capacity of 35,000 but poor scheduling, and the constant rain disruptions mean that almost 40% of tickets for the match may have gone unsold with less than 2 hours left before the match.
Reserve Day Rules for IND vs PAK clash
- The necessary measures will be to achieve a result on the original match day, including reducing overs in cases of prolonged rain interruptions.
- A minimum of 20 overs must be bowled in both innings to determine a result on the original match day.
- If 20 overs in both innings cannot be completed, the match will be continued on the reserve day.
- The reserve day is a continuation of the original match, not a restart. Therefore, the score from the original match day will carry over to the reserve day.
- If no play is possible on the original match day, the full ODI match will commence on the reserve day.
