F1 Monaco GP: Mercedes will bring upgrades to the Monaco GP: After having a superb run in Spanish Grand Prix, Mercedes are looking to get new upgrades to the Monaco GP in order to cut the deficit with Ferrari and Red Bull. Mercedes’ trackside engineering director Andrew Shovlin revealed that there are some ‘new parts in the pipeline’ for Monaco. Follow Formula 1 Live Updates on InsideSport.IN.

“The most encouraging thing is the improvement in the pace that we have seen this weekend; a lot of hard work has gone into understanding the issues and bringing parts to the track for this race. We can now see a route to develop our way out of this and back into a position where we can fight for pole and wins,” Shovlin added.

“We’ve got some unusual tracks coming up, starting with Monaco where we need to focus more on low-speed performance but we’ve got some parts in the pipeline that can hopefully help in that regard. After some tough months in Brackley and Brixworth, it was great to feel like we were racing again, we’re determined to be part of the battle for these championships and today has given us belief that we can do just that,” the Silver Arrows’ engineering director further added.

Mercedes showed up nearer to the leaders the entire end of the week in a ‘reassuring’ sign for the group. On Sunday, they appeared to come up short on the race speed of Red Bull, but considering their previous performances, they did improve a lot.

Prior to the end of the week, the group had pushed they had focussed on fixing the vehicle porpoising issues. With the problems now seemingly diminished, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are looking intimidating.

George Russell had a great outing in Barcelona as he finished third and now sees himself in the fourth spot in the Drivers’ standings. He has 74 points to his name and is 11 short of third-placed Perez.
