Max Verstappen led the race from the word go as he showed great maturity on the track. He was kept under check by Ferrari’s Sainz who mounted pressure on him in the ending stages of the race but Verstappen kept his calm and took home his first Canadian Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz had to settle for a second-place finish as Lewis Hamilton secured his second podium finish of the 2022 season.

George Russell once again in the ninth round of the 2022 season finished in the top five as he claimed the fourth spot overall. He was followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who started the race down in the nineteenth spot but finished sixth overall.

He was then followed by both the Alpine drivers as Esteban Ocon took home the sixth spot and was followed by Fernando Alonso in the seventh position. Then came both the Alfa Romeo drivers as after a hard weekend Valtteri Bottas took home the eighth spot. He was followed by teammate Guanyu Zhou who claimed the ninth spot overall as the home hero Lance Stroll had to settle for a tenth place finish.

McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo had a not-so-good day out on the track as he couldn’t manage to finish in the top ten and had to settle for eleventh place. Then came the turn of the veteran driver Sebastian Vettel who claimed the twelfth spot as he was followed by Alex Albon in the thirteenth position.
Pierre Gasly who had a great race in Baku couldn’t do much today as he had to settle for the fourteenth spot and he was followed by Lando Norris down in the fifteenth position. Nicholas Latifi in his home race had to settle for the sixteenth spot as Kevin Magnussen dropped positions dramatically and finished seventeenth overall.
There were three drivers who couldn’t finish the race as firstly it was Red Bull’s Sergio Perez who retired due to a gearbox failure. Then came the turn of Mick Schumacher, who was looking to secure a top ten finish but he had hydraulic issues. Lastly, Yuki Tsunoda who was the third driver who retired in Montreal as he locked up his front tyres and went into the barriers.
