F1 British GP LIVE: Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz takes the POLE POSITION: Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz ended the Qualifying session in first place and took home the first pole position of his career in his 150th race start. On top of it, Max Verstappen finished second and locked the front row for tomorrow’s race. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton in his home race will start from the fifth position. In the dying stages of the Q3 session, Carlos Sainz produced an amazing lap where he clocked the best time of the session and took home the first pole position of his career. He is followed by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen who will start the British Grand Prix in the second spot. Meanwhile, Verstappen spun his RB18 but still managed to keep it on the track and luckily avoided damage to his car.

Moreover, Charles Leclerc finished third overall and is followed by Sergio Perez in the fourth spot as both the drivers locked the second row on the grid for tomorrow’s race. Lewis Hamilton in his home race will start from the fifth spot as he dropped positions in the Q3 session.

The other Brit driver in the form of Lando Norris had a great day today as he finished the qualifying session in the sixth spot. He has been the shining light for McLaren this season so far. Fernando Alonso took home the seventh spot and is followed by George Russell in the eighth position.

The Chinese driver in the form of Guanyu Zhou has been on fire as he again outperformed his teammate and finished ninth overall. Meanwhile, it was a great day for the Williams team as Nicholas Latifi for the first time in his F1 career made it to the Q3 session and will start tomorrow’s race in the tenth spot.

Pierre Gasly had to settle for an eleventh spot and was followed by Valtteri Bottas down in the twelfth position. The other AlphaTauri driver in the form of Yuki Tsunoda claimed the thirteenth spot as he had to struggle with pace during the qualifying session.

McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo had a tough outing today as he finished fourteenth overall and will have work to do in tomorrow’s race. Meanwhile, Esteban Ocon also had a poor outing today as he claimed the fifteenth spot and is followed by Alex Albon in the sixteenth position.

Kevin Magnussen had to settle for the seventeenth spot and was followed by the veteran driver Sebastian Vettel in the eighteenth position. Vettel, who got knocked out in the Q1 session sounded low on the team radio.

Mick Schumacher had to settle for a nineteenth place finish and last but not least it was Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll who claimed the twentieth spot and will start tomorrow’s race in the last spot.
