League of Legends Wild Rift New Champion Sett Guide- As a new update patch for League of Legends Wild Rift is nearby, the developers have already teased the new champions that will be made available to the players. It will be “The Boss” Sett from Ionia who will be added to the game. If you are planning to move up in ranks, he is a good champion pick to go for in the Baron lane. Here is everything that you should know about him before trying him out in the game.

Sett’s story

Sett is a leader of Ionia’s growing criminal underworld. He started as a humble challenger of the fighting pits of Navori but has climbed his way up the ranks. He is known for his savage strength and ability to take any amount of punishment. He now commands the pits where he used to fight in his starting days.

Sett’s Role

Sett shines in the Baron lane as he can counter many heroes, especially melee champions. He can still be played as a jungler but it can be challenging. He is quite sturdy in the early game but becomes threatening in the mid-game. In the late game, he is not able to scale well in group team fights and plays the role of an engager/disengager. Still in 1-on-1 combat, very few champions can stand up to this brawler at any stage of the game. Sett is weak against tanky champions who can soak up all his damage and remain alive or ranged champions with AoE burst skills.

Sett’s Skills

Sett has the following skills within the game.

  • Pit Grit (Passive): Sett’s basic attacks alternate between left and right punch. His right punches are slightly stronger and faster. Sett also has a passive health regeneration effect which increases depending on his missing health.
  • Knuckle Down (1st skill): Sett’s next two attacks deal additional damage that is based upon the target’s max health. While the skill is active, Sett also gains movement speed while moving towards enemy champions.
  • Haymaker (2nd skill): Sett passively stores damage he takes as Grit. While casting this skill, Sett expends all his stored Grit to gain a shield and punch an area. This AoE attack deals true damage in the center and physical damage on the sides.
  • Facebreaker (3rd Skill): Sett pulls in all enemies on opposite sides of him while dealing damage and stunning them. If enemies are only on one side, they get slowed instead of being stunned.
  • The Show Stopper (Ultimate): Sett carries a single enemy champion through the air and slams them into the ground. If enemies are standing on or near his landing spot, they will receive damage and get slowed down from his ultimate.

Sett’s Runes and Summoner Spells

If you are selecting runes for Sett, go for the Conqueror as the main rune. For Slot 1 secondary rune you can pick Triumph. For slot 2 get Hunter-Titan (tanky) or Second Wind (long-lasting) depending upon your playstyle. Get Sweet Tooth for Slot 3 so that you can regenerate more health from the Honeyfruit regularly after team fights.

For the Summoner Spells, go for Flash and Exhaust. The first one will help you to either engage or disengage. The second spell will help you to slow down your target enemy as you fight him.

Sett’s Item Builds

Here is a recommended build order for Sett in League of Legends Wild Rift.

  • Boots: Get Plated Steelcaps if your enemy champion in Baron Lane is an attack damage hero. Otherwise, you should get Mercury’s Treads if you are against an ability power hero in Baron lane or there are multiple ability power heroes in the enemy team. Choose the Stasis enchant on your boots.
  • Items: Ideally you should go for a mixture of damage items and tank items on Sett. But you should also customize the build according to the enemy team lineup and your playstyle if you want to thrive in team fights. Here are both of these builds.
    • Recommended build: 1st item – Black Cleaver, 2nd Item – Sterak’s Gage, 3rd Item – Dead Man’s Plate, 4th Item – Force of Nature, 5th Item – Randuin’s Omen. If you want an extra damage item, get Blade of the Ruined King as 3rd Item. If you want to build complete tank, start from Sterak’s Gage and build Guardian Angel as the third or fourth item.

Sett’s Playstyle

If it is your first time playing Sett, here are some playing tips that can help you:

  • Skill level ups: You should level up his 3rd skill-Facebreaker and then 2nd skill-Haymaker at levels 1 and 2 respectively. It will allow you to slow your enemy champion and clear out minion waves quickly. After that, you can go for 1st skill-Knuckle Down at level 3 and ultimate-The Show Stopper at level 4. Max out skill 1 first, then skill 2 and skill 3 in decreasing priority, and choose the ultimate when available.
  • Early-game: Try to clear the wave of minions early and ward the two bushes near the rift, on your and enemy’s side. This will provide you with a clear vision and save you from ganks. Help your jungler in obtaining objectives on your side of the map like the Rift Herald and rift scuttler.
  • Mid-game: You perform the best in team fights in this time. Go to the middle lane for ganks and roam the map, you can occasionally push the top lane so that enemies have to split up to address it. Flank the enemies and choose the backlines. Your ultimate will allow you to break the enemy positions.
  • Late-game: Your role is now to start team fights by engaging the enemy champions now. Get a mixture of tanky and damage dealing items along with the Stasis Enchant on your boots. Stick with your teammates, especially the damage dealers. Go in with your ultimate and target the weakest enemy champion. If your teammates have another AoE crowd control to follow up, you could easily flash out. Otherwise use Stasis and then Flash out from the team fight. If you are not skilled with the combos or the hero, avoid going for one-on-one combat in the late game.

Now with all this knowledge, you are ready to try out Sett, the upcoming new champion in League of Legends Wild Rift. Still, you should try him out in ten or so regular matches first for practice. It will help you to gain more experience and then you can go to the ranked matches with him.
