VALORANT LCQ: SENTINELS loses first match of the season against The Guard
Sentinels had been having a bad season, and switched up their roster by bringing in several changes, one of which included adding Michael ‘Shroud’ Grsziek to the organization’s VALORANT roster. SENTINELS had its first match against The Guard in the VCT North America LCQ. While the team was off to a good start, they soon lsot their footing when the team decided to have Shroud plant the spike.
Shroud’s Viper was soon gunned down, leaving the Sentinels roster missing an integral part of their post plant team. Naturally, after Shroud’s loss, it was easy for The Guard to clutch the round, thereby winning them the match.

On a livestream after the match, Shahzam was talking about where the team went wrong in its approach. However, a viewer soon asked him how Shroud was doing, since this was his first match after his return into the professional esports sphere. Shahzam answered the question rather casually, stating that Shroud was fine, since he was already a billionaire. He claimed that the loss did not affect the streamer all that much, and even went on to state that if he wanted to, he could even buy The Guard.
“He could just buy The Guard.”
Although Shroud’s return to professional is not off to the smoothest start, fans are still hopeful that Sentinels will learn from its mistakes and choose to act wisely in the upcoming matches. Sentinels is not out of the VCT NA LCQ yet, and is set to compete against the defeated team in the upcoming match between Shopify Rebellion and Cloud9. The match is set to take place on August 7, so the team has ample time to up its game and perform better in the next match.
