UEFA and PlayStation go hand in hand since the first contract was done between them in 1997.  Today, UEFA announced the renewal of the contract between UEFA Champions League and PlayStation for the 2021-2024 cycle. This agreement also includes the sponsorship rights for the UEFA Youth League, UEFA Futsal Champions League and UEFA Super League for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. The agreement will allow PlayStation to present the Official Player of the Match award in every UEFA Champions League match and will also nominate the Player of the Week across all UEFA’s digital platforms. In addition to that, PlayStation will continue to give their support towards the UEFA Champions League Gaming Hub with the Predictor games and the popular UCL Fantasy League, which are available in desktop and mobile applications.

The UEFA Marketing Director, Guy-Laurent Epstein said, “PlayStation has been a valued partner of the UEFA Champions League for over 23 years, so I’m delighted that we can extend our relationship for another three years. Our long-term partnerships with innovative brands such as PlayStation are very valuable for the global promotion of our competitions, especially in the digital world. We look forward to continuing this relationship in the new UEFA Champions League Cycle.”

This agreement is the seventh sponsorship announced by UEFA for the 2021-2024 UEFA Champions League Cycle which includes partnerships with giant brands like PepsiCo, Heineken, Gazprom, FedEx, and MasterCardJust-Eat Takeaway being the latest brand to partner with UEFA.

The senior vice-president and head of global marketing of SONY, Eric Lampel said, “We have enjoyed a strong collaborative relationship with the UEFA Champions League for over 23 years, delivering unique football experiences to our community of PlayStation fans around the world. Football is integral to the PlayStation DNA, and we know many of our gamers are as passionate about football as we are. We look forward to our continued partnership and the excitement of the upcoming 2021-2024 cycle.”

UEFA revealed that their worldwide sales of all the UEFA competition sponsorship rights are processed by TEAM Marketing AG on behalf of UEFA.
