“Riot Games is one of the world’s best developers and creators of groundbreaking entertainment franchises,” said Steve Allison, Vice President and General Manager of the Epic Games Store. “We’re excited they’ve chosen to partner with us to bring their titles to millions of new players through the Epic Store.”
Established players will still be able to sign into their existing accounts and use their existing friends list. The new Riot Client began rolling out worldwide earlier this month to players. To help celebrate the new collaboration between Riot and Epic, blue-haired, weapon-festooned League of Legends champion Jinx will be joining Fortnite as a playable character. This will be the first time in its dozen-year history that a League of Legends champion is showing up in a non-Riot game.
Her appearance, which kicks off on Nov. 4, at 8 p.m. ET, will include an outfit, pickaxe, spray, back bling, lobby track, and two loading screens.
“Fortnite has executed high-profile collaborations and entertainment experiences while remaining committed to bringing players content that enriches their experience both in and out of game, a dedication we share and admire,” said Brandon Miao, Cross-Product Experiences and Partnerships Lead, Riot Experience (XP) at Riot Games. “We hope fans will enjoy seeing Jinx, one of our most iconic League of Legends champions, in Fortnite to celebrate the launch of Arcane.”
