To celebrate the upcoming winter holidays, Pokemon GO is organizing a Holiday Event 2021 as well as the Holiday Cup. Trainers can get a lot of rewards during this event duration, which lasts from 16th to 31st December 2021. From Pokemons with winter holiday costumes, the addition of Bergmite, increased Pokemon spawn rates, extra gift bonuses, Field research rewards, and also special raid battles, a lot of additional rewards will be available. The Holiday 2021 event will be organized in two parts. In the first part, the event will last from 12th to 23rd December. Here are all the things that you need to take note of during this event.

- Send 3 gifts to your friends – 3 Pinap Berries or 3 Poke Balls or 3 Razz Berries
- Win in a Level 3 Raid or higher – Cryogonal encounter
- Capture 7 different Pokemon species – Alolan Vulpix encounter
- Take 2 snapshots of wild ice-type Pokemons – 25 Mega Abomasnow energy
- Open up 5 gifts – Pikachu (Santa Hat) or Stantler (Holiday) or Cubchoo (holiday) encounter
- Spin 3 Poke Stops or Gyms – Swinub encounter
- Capture 5 different ice-type Pokemons – Spheal (Holiday) encounter
Pokemon GO Holiday 2021 Part 1: Increased Spawning rates
The following Pokemons will spawn more frequently during Holiday 2021 event: Pikachu (Santa Hat), Alolan Sandshrew, Swinub, Delibird (Holiday), Stantler (Holiday), Snowrunt, Spheal (Holiday), Snover, Vanilite, Cubchoo (Holiday), and Cryogonal. Trainers also have a chance to capture the Shiny versions of the Holiday Pokemon variants.

Pokemon GO Holiday 2021 Part 1: Raid Pokemons
You can find the following Pokemons in the raids during the Holiday 2021 event: Pikachu (Santa Hat), Sandshrew, Swinub, Spheal (Holiday), Cubchoo (Holiday), Cloyster, Delibird (Holiday), Stantler (Holiday), Glaceon (Holiday), Kyurem, and Mega Steelix. Holiday variants of Glaceon and Spheal along with Shiny Kyurem will be available for the first time for the trainers in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO Holiday Cup: Overview
Apart from the Holiday 2021 event, trainers can also take part in the Holiday Cup to challenge themselves. It is a new PvP battle format that comes with its limitations and will be held during the Holiday 2021 event.
Trainers can only use their Grass, Ghost, Ice, Electric, Flying, or other normal Pokemons. Moreover, the Pokemons on your team should also have a 1500 or lower CP. The Holiday Cup will begin on 16th and will last until 31st December. The Holiday Cup is similar to the Great League tournament that has similar restrictions on the participating trainers.
