As 2021, is nearing its end, Niantic has already released the roadmap for Pokemon GO trainers for the new year. From new Raid Bosses, Spotlight Hours, and New Year events, there are a lot of exciting things related to Pokemon GO that trainers can look forward to in January 2022. Here is a list of them. Pokemon GO: January Research Breakthrough Rewards
For the month of January, Pokemon GO trainers will receive new rewards for completing Research Breakthrough. They are:
1. Normal Onix and a chance of getting a Shiny variant.
2. Steelix Mega Energy
These rewards will be available from 1:00 PM Saturday on 1st January till 1:00 PM Tuesday on 1st February 2022. (The timings are in GMT -8)
Pokemon GO: Weekly 1 PokeCoin Bundles
In January, Pokemon GO trainers will be able to buy a weekly bundle for 1 PokeCoin in the Shop every Monday. Trainers can find Remote Raid Pass and other useful items in the bundle. Using a Remote Raid Pass, trainers can take part in a Raid Battle without having to move from their location.

Pokemon GO: All Raid Pokemons
One of the most entertaining parts of Pokemon GO is its Raid Battles. Trainers take down legendary Pokemons or those from different stars here. Here are all the Pokemons that will be appearing in Raids throughout January 2022.
● Mega Raids: Mega Aerodactyl will be making its debut in Pokemon GO in January. Trainers have a chance to get the shiny version of both Mega Abomasnow and Mega Aerodactyl.
○ Mega Abomasnow – Until 7th January 2022.
○ Mega Aerodactyl – From 7th January to 1st February 2022.
● Five-Star Raids: Every Wednesday in January, a Raid Hour event will occur from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time. The following Pokémon will be featured. Genesect with Shock Drive will debut in Pokemon GO in January. Trainers have a chance to get the shiny version of Kyurem, Heatran, and Regice.
○ Kyurem – Until 7th January 2022
○ Heatran – From 7th till 15th January 2022
○ Genesect (with Shock Drive) – from 15th till 24th January 2022
○ Regice – From January 24th till 1st February 2022
Pokemon GO: Spotlight Hours
In January 2022, Pokémon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time. In each spotlight, a different Pokémon and a special bonus will be available to the trainers. The Spotlight Pokemons will be:
1. Solosis for January 4th. Players will also receive 2x Transfer Candy
2. Diglett for January 11th. Players will also receive 2x Catch Stardust and a chance to get a Shiny Diglett.
3. Plusle for January 18th. Players will also receive 2x Catch Candy and a chance to get a Shiny Plusle.
4. Minun for January 25th. Players will also receive 2x Transfer Candy and a chance to get a Shiny Minun.
Pokemon GO: January Community Day
Trainers can join the January Community Day event on Sunday, 16th January from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time. Here the featured Pokemon will be Spheal. Trainers can find it appearing more frequently in the wild. They can catch it to evolve into Sealeo during the event or up to two hours afterward. They can then evolve it further to get a Walrein that knows the Charged Attack Icicle Spear and Fast Attack Powder Snow.

Pokemon GO: January Events
Trainers can take part and enjoy the following events in January 2022.
1. New Year’s Event: From Friday 31st December 2021, at 10:00 AM to Tuesday, 4th January 2022, at 8:00 PM local time, trainers can celebrate the new year with Pokémon GO. There will be new costumes and new avatar items.
2. Mountains of Power: From Friday, 7th January 2022, at 10:00 AM to Thursday, 13th January 2022, at 8:00 PM local time, trainers can work with Spark to activate the second part of the mysterious door. They need to do this by journeying through terrain that is similar to the mountains found in regions like Johto and Sinnoh.
3. Electric and Steel themed events inspired by the Kanto Power Plant: From Wednesday, 19th January 2022, at 10:00 AM local time to Tuesday, 1st February 2022, at 10:00 AM in local time. Trainers continue working with Spark to gather up some electrifying Pokémon to activate the final part of the mysterious door.
These are all the activities that will keep the Pokemon GO trainers busy in January 2022.
