The 2024 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) kicked off with a bang over the weekend with high-intensity action in Group Yellow’s League Stage battles. In this opening head-to-head, the 16 teams battled it out across 24 matches to secure their spot in the Grand Finals. After four fiery days of competition, it was Team Spirit that stood out amongst the rest with an impressive 35-point lead over the tied second-place DRX and Alpha 7 Esports. PMGC 2024 League Stage Week 1 is over

This stage was an ever-changing thriller, with notable changes to the leaderboard throughout the full event. Day one saw Major Pride blow the doors open in the opening match with a 25-point win, whilst 2023 PUBG MOBILE World Invitational (PMWI) winners Vampire Esports rose to the occasion in match three and four, securing back-to-back Chicken Dinners in a striking display of teamwork and skill.

With all teams striving for gold, day two was a resounding hit to the momentum of Alpha 7 Esports and Vampire Esports, who slipped to 6th and 7th place respectively. Meanwhile, South Korean team Miraen Sejong jumped to first place with 2 wins and 109 points under their belt. Moving into day three, team DRX jumped back into the ring with two wins and a second-place spot, providing a much-needed boost to their leaderboard standing.

On the final day, Team Spirit took first place, with DRX and Alpha 7 Esports tied in second place with 190 points each, finalising their space in the top three, and pushing aside Major Pride with a tight 6-point advantage. Major Pride now lead the eight teams heading to the Survival Stage, joined by the mighty Vampire Esports and Vietnamese team D’Xavier, where they are set to compete once again for a spot in the Grand Finals.
